ENA NURSE of the YEAR. Education & Experience
Kim RN MS Kim is a STOTT Pilates certified instructor, a Tai Chi certified practice instructor and an ACE certified Fitness instructor. Kim is a registered nurse, and is employed by Honor Healthcare Osborn as a Nursing Supervisor/Clinical Leader in the Emergency/Trauma department. Kim also work as an NP in the Community Medicine division of the 911 system with Mesa Fire and Medical (the first of its kind in the country!) Kim is also a seasonal Clinical Faculty Instructor at Arizona State University's College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation. Kim holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, a Masters Degree in Nursing Education, a Masters Degree in Spiritual Studies and Counseling, and a Post Masters Degree: Family Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners located in Austin, Texas, and is completing a Doctrate Degree.
Kim had a unique understanding of the mind/body connection and draws upon her knowledge as both an instructor and a Registered Nurse to ensure the safety and effectiveness in her teaching style. Kim has been athletic her whole life, playing field hockey, track and gymnastics, participating and teaching aerobics and resistance training, as well as running and biking, but it is through Pilates that she has transformed both her mind and her body.
Kim's teaching style can best be described as "firm but fair"--knowing when to encourage and when to accept our body's limitations. Her focus is on proper alignment, mindfulness, and an overall sense of well being. When Kim is not teaching or working, she enjoys travel, riding her bike, listening to music, helping self and others, nice relationships, learning, playing with her animals, volunteer work and any and many kinds of exercise.
